All participants who are present at the evening awards ceremony are eligible for random cash drawings in the amounts of $1000, $750, $500 and $250.
Breck’s Bicycle Shop 48k and 20k Bike Rides
7:30 am
Participants can ride either a 48k or 20k course. Both rides are ‘out and back’ routes and designed for cyclist of all abilities. The 20k ride will be part of the broken triathlon in which participants compete in a 750meter swim and 5k run as well for a total time. The rides are usually very competitive; individual awards will be given out to the top ten male/female finishers in each ride. All participants who complete either ride and are present at the evening awards ceremony are eligible for the $1000, $750, $500 and $250 random cash prize drawings
Healthy Living Expo & Clinic
10:00 am-4:00 pm
The expo will be at the Winchester Center on the KWC campus. Vendors will be displaying all the great gear and stuff you’re use to seeing at a major expo. There will be bicycles, running gear, and much more. Throughout the day guest speakers will be scheduled to educate and entertain you. Tony Rowe will be speaking on ‘The History of Running in Owensboro’- you don’t want to miss this one! Theresa Rowe will be sharing her life experiences concerning physical fitness and faith- wow!
There will also be a bicycle safety demonstration for everyone.
Kinder Music will be on board introducing the youth to music and dance.
The expo will be a major event you don’t want to miss…entrance to the expo, demonstrations, and speaking sessions is at no charge!
Farm Bureau Insurance-Gavin Roberts Kid’s Fun Runs and Activities
10:00 am
The kid’s fun runs and activities will take place on the beautiful front lawn of the Barnard Jones Administration Building. Separate races for girls and boys with trophies awarded for the first three places in each age group. Medals will be awarded for all girls and boys who participate. All participants who attend the awards ceremony will be eligible for prize drawings. Age groups and runs include:
- ages 3 and under – 20 yard run
- ages 4 & 5 – 50 yard run
- ages 6 & 7 – 80 yard run
- ages 8 & 9 – 100 yard run.
Immediately following the Kid’s Fun Runs and Activities the real fun starts with BIG AIR EVENTS, Guitar Hero, and much more. Your kids will have a great time!
River Valley Behavioral Health Special Abilities Run & Events
10:00 am
Races and events for individuals who are physically and/or mentally challenged will be located on the front lawn of the Yo Hak Hahn Center for the Sciences. Medals will be awarded for all who participate. An award ceremony will follow. All participants who attend the awards ceremony will be eligible for prize drawings. Activities include:
- 50 yard run
- Sit-ups
- Push-ups
- Jumping jacks
- Jump rope
- Hula-hoops
- Shot put
- Softball throw
Big Air Fun Time
11:00 am- 3:00 pm
Fun activities and Big Air Slides, Bouncers, and Jousting will keep your kids active throughout the day. There will something for everyone! Plans include a Big Slide, Super Jousting, a Bouncy House, and Guitar Hero! Fun, fun, fun for kids of all ages!! Remember: Play time is exercise time!
Swimming
11:00 am- 3:00 pm
Participants will swim 750 meters as a stand alone event or as part of the broken triathlon. The Owensboro Family YMCA will be hosting this activity. Participants will be hand timed. All participants who attend the awards ceremony will be eligible for prize drawings.
2K Fun Walk
3:30 pm
This event is a 1.2 mile fun walk starting at Wesleyan Drive and finishing in Steele Stadium. Participants are asked not to run. No rollerblades are permitted. All participants who attend the awards ceremony will be eligible for prize drawings.
Progressive Sports Therapy 5K Run/Walk
4:30 pm
This event is a 3.1 mile run or walk starting at Wesleyan Drive and finishing in Steele Stadium. No rollerblades are permitted. Awards will be given to Overalls, Masters, GrandMasters, and Age Group winners. (three deep in Age Groups) Cash awards will be given to male and female overall winner ($200 each). All participants who attend the awards ceremony will be eligible for prize drawings.
Legend’s 10K Run
5:45 pm
This event is a 6.2 mile run starting at Wesleyan Drive and finishing in Steele Stadium. Walking, rollerblading, and pets are not allowed.
